Refund Policy
ENGLISH GREYHOUND DERBY TICKETS – REFUND POLICY
When dealing with request for refunds for tickets to its meetings Towcester Racecourse will apply the following policy and procedures although Towcester Racecourse may elect to waive or vary the procedures and requirements set out herein (for example, but without limitation, the requirement that Tickets be posted with each application for refund). Refunds will not be provided in any other circumstances (including, without limitation, where a ticket holder is ejected from Towcester Racecourse).
1. Postponement of Meeting before any races have been run
In the event of the postponement of a Meeting before you have entered the Racecourse, the Ticket will be valid for the rearranged Meeting.
Where a Meeting is postponed after Ticket holder(s) have entered the Racecourse, but before the Meeting has had a race run, entry to the rearranged Meeting shall only be permitted on presentation of the Ticket and subject to compliance with any other requirements announced by Towcester Racecourse at the time.
Ticket purchaser(s) unable to attend the rearranged Meeting shall be entitled to a refund of the value of Ticket (including any booking fee and related transaction charge). The procedure for obtaining such a refund shall be announced by Towcester Racecourse and more information is set out in paragraph 7 below.
2. Postponement of the Meeting after a race has been run
In the event of the postponement of a Meeting after a race has been run, a Ticket will be valid for the rearranged Meeting (subject to compliance with any other arrangements announced by Towcester Racecourse).
A person unable to attend the rearranged Meeting shall be entitled to a refund, save that the refund shall be: (i) 60% of the value of the Ticket (including any booking fee and related transaction charge) if the Meeting is postponed before half of the races for the Meeting have been completed; or (ii) 40% of the value of the Ticket (including any booking fee and related transaction charge) if the Meeting is postponed after half of the races for the Meeting have been completed. The procedure for obtaining such a refund is set out in paragraph 7 below.
3. Abandonment of a Meeting (no rearranged Meeting)
When a Meeting is abandoned before starting and it is not rearranged, a person shall be entitled to a refund of the Ticket value (including any booking fee and related transaction charge).
4. Meeting taking place ‘behind closed doors’
In the event that the Meeting takes place without any paying spectators present inside the Racecourse, a person shall be entitled to a refund of the ticket price paid (including any booking fee and related transaction charge). No Ticket holder shall be entitled to entry to the Meeting in such circumstances. The procedure for obtaining such a refund is set out in paragraph 7 below.
5. Reduction in Capacity
In the event that Towcester Racecourse reduces the intended capacity of the Meeting after the date that Tickets were on sale, Towcester Racecourse reserves the right to cancel your Ticket and provide a full refund of the ticket price paid (including any booking fee and related transaction charge). The procedure for obtaining such a refund is set out in paragraph 7 below.
6. Meeting to be held at an alternative Racecourse
In the event that a Meeting is moved to an alternative Racecourse from Towcester Racecourse, the Ticket purchaser will be entitled to a refund of the value of the ticket (including any booking fee and related transaction charge). The procedure for obtaining such a refund is set out in paragraph 7 below.
7. Procedure for obtaining a refund
If any of the above circumstances apply then Towcester Racecourse will announce the procedure for applying for a refund, including, if applicable, the address to send such applications and other documentation to; this may be Towcester Racecourse, its agent, or another body. All refund applications must be received within 28 days of the day of the announcement by Towcester Racecourse regarding the process of applying for a refund.
Please allow 60 days for a refund to be processed. Refunds will only be made to the original purchaser of the Ticket and will generally be made through the same payment method as the Ticket was originally purchased.
In each of the above circumstances. Towcester Racecourse shall not be liable in any event for any other costs incurred by the Ticket holder whatsoever including, for example, but without limitation, any hotel and/or travel expenses.
In this policy, the following terms have the following meanings:
“Meeting“ means any Meeting staged by Towcester Racecourse for the English Greyhound Derby 2025; and
“Ticket” means a ticket (in paper, electronic or any other form), (and/or any rights arising out of or in connection with that paper ticket) for admission to a Meeting and shall include any reissued ticket for a rearranged Meeting.
